|The Redlands High School Counselors want to encourage all our future parents and guardians to attend our annual 8th into 9th Grade Parent Night on Monday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. in Clock Auditorium on the RHS campus. Topics to be covered included graduation requirements, registration forms, honors programs, summer school, student activities, and academic policies. The High School asks that you download and print the registration documents.|
Cope Middle School offers Honors classes in the 7th and 8th grades, in the areas of English, math and science.
New this year...
All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will take a Math Assessment Test on Wednesday, February 8th, during their math class period. The Math Assessment Test score, 1st semester math class grade, 2016 Math SBAC score, and 2017 SBAC score will be used to determine if a student automatically qualifies for Honors Math in the 7th and 8th grade. The same criteria will be used to determine 9th grade math placement for current 8th graders.
All 6th and 7th graders will take a written English Assessment test on Monday, February 6th and Tuesday, February 7th, during their English class period. The written English Assessment test score, 1st semester English class grade, 2016 ELA SBAC score and 2017 ELA SBAC score will be used to determine if a student automatically qualifies for Honors English for the 7th and 8th grade. Current 8th grade students will not take this placement test.
RUSD will mail a letter to all families informing parents/guardians/students the results of their placement in the Spring. The Math and English Honors placement criteria and testing is the same for all RUSD middle schools (actual testing dates may vary).
Cope Students Only...
Current 6th and 7th grade students who are interested in taking the Honors Science Placement Test for the 2017-2018 school year may apply to do so. Applications will be made available on Monday, February 6, 2017. Only students who apply to take the test will be given the exam at the end of February. More information will be made available on February 3rd. Applications can be picked-up at the Student Center.
