New this year...
All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will take a Math Assessment Test on Wednesday, February 8th, during their math class period. The Math Assessment Test score, 1st semester math class grade, 2016 Math SBAC score, and 2017 SBAC score will be used to determine if a student automatically qualifies for Honors Math in the 7th and 8th grade. The same criteria will be used to determine 9th grade math placement for current 8th graders.
All 6th and 7th graders will take a written English Assessment test on Monday, February 6th and Tuesday, February 7th, during their English class period. The written English Assessment test score, 1st semester English class grade, 2016 ELA SBAC score and 2017 ELA SBAC score will be used to determine if a student automatically qualifies for Honors English for the 7th and 8th grade. Current 8th grade students will not take this placement test.
RUSD will mail a letter to all families informing parents/guardians/students the results of their placement in the Spring. The Math and English Honors placement criteria and testing is the same for all RUSD middle schools (actual testing dates may vary).
